Every year, we offer The Gillis Purcell Memorial Journalism Scholarship for Indigenous individuals in Canada, established in 1990 in memory of Gillis Purcell, who was a general manager at CP. Recipients, who must be pursuing a career in journalism at a post-secondary institution, receive $4,000 and may also receive an offer of temporary employment or other opportunities at CP.
